Nicotine addiction has historically been one of the hardest addictions to break. So, anything that helps reduce cravings for a smoke is helpful.

Here’s what can be expected following an exercise session.

Researchers from Canada and the UK reviewed 12 studies that compared active exercise to no exercise.

  • 9 of 10 studies found a significant reduction in cravings after exercise.
  • A brisk 1-mile walk had the largest and longest-lasting reduction in cravings — lasting as long as 50 minutes.
  • There’s no guarantee that more intensive exercise session will result in more prolonged reduction in cravings.

The bottom Line?
