Coffee is a complex mixture of more than 1,000 compounds, some of which are linked to good and others to bad effects on human health.

Among the good stuff is soluble dietary fiber, according to an article in Science Daily.

Using a special technique for measuring dietary fiber in beverages, scientists in Spain report that drinking 1 cup (about 200 milliliters) of coffee per day contributes up to 1.8 grams of the recommended intake of 20-38 grams of fiber.

Here is a good source of information on fiber from the Jackson Siegelbaum Gastroenterology practice in Pennsylvania.
