Biggest losers in CAM for 2007
We’re talking about companies that manufacture, market, and sell adulterated “Natural” dietary supplements that are promoted to treat impotence. These unscrupulous individuals place unsuspecting users at risk of serious side effects.
Let’s shine light on the culprits in 2007.
- Bodee LLC, Inc. issued a nationwide recall of Encore Tabs.
- America True Man Health recalled it’s True Man?s Sexual Energy Nutriment Men?s Formula.
- Health Canada advised consumers not to use PJ. Air Madu‘s product called Urat Madu.
- Jen-On Herbal Science International, Inc. issued a nationwide recall of HS Joy of Love.
- Barodon SF issued a nationwide recall of V.MAX.
- FDA announced that more of the Ebek, Inc. product called Liviro3 was discovered after voluntary recall.
The bottom line?
In a recent article, Dr. Wayne Hellstrom at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans stated “Studies have found sildenafil [Viagra], sildenafil analogs, tadalafil [Cialis], and tadalafil analogs together in the same supplement.”
He continues, “These medications pose a particular risk for interactions as they contain combinations of different medications … for which no clinical trials have been performed and no toxicologic profile is available.”
Consumers and healthcare professionals need to be made aware of this ongoing problem with these losers.
