Traditional Chinese medicinal herbs to treat chronic fatigue

cochrane-symbolThis Cochrane review reports that flawed study design limits the usefulness of the data reported.

First, the details.

  • Although studies examining the use of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs for chronic fatigue were found, no studies met the inclusion criteria of the reviewers.

And, the results.

  • The authors concluded, “Improvement in methodology in future studies is required for meaningful synthesis of data.”

The bottom line?

In other words, don’t bother doing a “scientific” study if you’re not going to put effort into designing and carrying it out rigorously.
