If this product sounds familiar, it is. The company selling it, Bodee LLC, buys lots of radio time around here to trumpet this dietary supplement as a “natural” way to treat impotence.

Now, the FDA as stepped in.

Encore is being recalled because it contains a potentially harmful, undeclared ingredient called aminotadalafil, an analog of tadalafil found in the FDA-approved drug Cialis, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction.

The undeclared chemical poses a threat to consumers because it may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs (such as nitroglycerin) and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.

There have been 4 other recalls of products for this reason this year: Zencore (by the same company), Long Weekend, V-max and Rhino Max, and Liviro3.

Erectile dysfunction is often a symptom of other ongoing diseases. Be smart, see your qualified healthcare provider if you experience impotence.
